Here at Dorset House Dental, we like to encourage parents to start encouraging their children to take care of their teeth from an early age.

Oral health and hygiene has to start at home, so get your children used to having their teeth brushed twice a day with fluoride toothpaste from when their first tooth comes through.

We recommend parents bring their children in for their first dental check-up when their first tooth erupts, or by the time they turn one. It allows them to get used to the environment, hopefully stopping any anxieties or nerves over visiting the dentist, and it should also help encourage them to take good care of their teeth and oral health at home.

This will not only help promote better oral health and hygiene in the long term but will also help promote a positive attitude towards dental care and visiting the dentist.
