The most common and most effective type of braces used in dentistry are fixed braces. Often referred to as “fixed appliances” or “train tracks” they are brackets fixed to each tooth with a thin wire running through them. They work by gradually moving your teeth into the desired position. We offer both metal and ceramic (tooth coloured) fixed braces at Dorset House Dental.

It will take between 12 to 24 months to complete orthodontic treatment and during this time, you will need to attend regular appointments with the orthodontist so they can make necessary adjustments and check the progress of your treatment.

We also recommend seeing our Hygienist 6 monthly to ensure your teeth remain in great condition whilst you are having fixed brace treatment.

Prices start from £3000 and will be case dependent. At the free consultation our orthodontist will be able to examine your teeth and discuss the suitable orthodontic options, with the associated costs. After the consultation a treatment plan will be written up (with all the information discussed) and sent over to you for your consideration.
