WHAT IS INVISALIGN?

- Be completely discrete – no one will even know you are even wearing them!
How does our Invisalign Rugby treatment work?
At Dorset House Dental, Invisalign® Treatment starts with a consultation with our Orthodontist. They will evaluate your smile and then map out a precise, customised digital treatment plan that showcases the step-by-step transformation of your smile.
Once you approve your plan, your unique aligners will be created. You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks, as directed by our Orthodontist. Each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into place, according to your treatment plan, until you reach your beautiful new smile.
• Step 1: Sneak Peek of your Smile.
Our orthodontist will take a fast and precise 3D digital scan of your teeth using the iTero Flex Scanner, and work with you to map out a custom treatment plan that you are happy with.
• Step 2: Start your Invisalign Transformation.
Once you are happy with your treatment plan, we are ready to start your journey with Invisalign treatment.
When you pick up your first custom aligners, our Orthodontist will examine your smile, ensuring high standards from start. Invisalign® clear aligners are made with flexible SmartTrack™ material, and laser-trimmed to the gum line for greater comfort during your treatment.
You’ll have check-ups roughly every 6-8 weeks to check on your progress and collect your next set of aligners. Invisalign® Virtual Care5 feature within the My Invisalign™ app will also allow your doctor to keep track of your progress and give you feedback remotely in between your face to face appointments.
Your Invisalign® aligners are virtually transparent and easy to take out, so you can eat and brush your teeth as normal, and with fewer compromises. Don’t forget, you’ll need to wear your Invisalign® aligners for 22 hours a day to ensure your treatment stays on track.
• Step 3: Keeping your Smile Beautiful.
Now that you’ve transformed your smile, here’s how to keep the straighter smile you love.
- Wear your aligners according to your Invisalign® treatment plan
- Set reminders for wearing and changing your aligners on My Invisalign™ App
- Once orthodontic treatment ends, teeth can have a tendency to move again, so it’s important to keep them in place for long lasting results.

Are there any restrictions on what I can eat while in Invisalign treatment?
None! Invisalign® clear aligners are removable, so there are no food restrictions at all (hello popcorn!). With traditional wires and brackets, there’s a long list of foods you unfortunately can’t enjoy because they can damage or get stuck in your braces.
What happens on completion with Invisalign® Treatment?
Our orthodontist at Dorset House Dental and indeed all orthodontists, recommend that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether with braces or Invisalign® Treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back toward their initial position.
Here at Dorset House Dental, we highly recommend investing in Vivera retainers.
Vivera retainers are:
- Discreet – Clear and virtually invisible.
- Custom made – Fitted to every detail of your smile.
- Longer lasting – Twice as durable and 30% stronger than other retainers.
And we don’t stop just there. We will *whiten your teeth with our White Dental Beauty Whitening system, and recontour your teeth (if required).
